![]() In this 2001 parody of the Harry Potter series, Bart and Lisa go to the Springwart’s School Of Magicry to learn the art of witchcraft and wizardry and in true Simpsons fashion, nothing quite goes to plan. If you’re a fan of all things Harry Potter, this episode is the one for you. 26. Reaper Madness (Treehouse Of Horror XIV)įamily Guy comparisons aside, the episode combines some genuinely funny and creepy moments which make this one of the most enjoyable Halloween episodes The Simpsons has to offer. The episode was released during the height of the Paranormal Activity craze and was the first time The Simpsons had included a paranormal storyline in one of their Treehouse Of Horror tales. Yet another not-so-subtle movie franchise reference is seen in the 2012 Halloween special Unnormal Activity, an episode in which the Simpson clan set out to discover exactly who or what has been causing some strange events at 742 Evergreen Terrace. ![]() 27. Unnormal Activity (Treehouse Of Horror XXIII) The episode centres around Lisa’s new-found love for a mysterious vampire known as Edmund, voiced by Daniel Radcliffe. This 2010 special parodies, you’ve guessed it, the Twilight series. The episode also includes other fairy tale references in the form of Goldilocks And The Three Bears – which has a more gruesome end this time round – and sees the Simpson family hilariously live with the after-effects of some pretty evil spells. Originally aired in 2000, this Halloween special takes place in a fairy tale setting and centres around the story of Hansel and Gretel, but with a Simpsons twist. Other references to Hitchcock’s body of work are used throughout the entire episode, including the North By Northwest theme music 29. Scary Tales Can Come True (Treehouse Of Horror XI) This parody of Sir Alfred Hitchcock’s Strangers On A Train sees a revenge plot against Bart and Lisa’s teachers at Springfield Elementary go horribly wrong. 30.
